Alert Only considerations
- Alert-only MDR is best suited for organizations with a mature internal SOC that wants better detection, not response outsourcing.
- Ask about alert fidelity. Volume of alerts matters less than the quality of investigation and context provided per alert.
- Verify that the provider de-duplicates and correlates alerts before escalation, not just forwarding raw SIEM output.
- Consider whether your team has the bandwidth to action every alert within the provider's SLA window.
